Crossed-Structure Binding

This is a contemporary binding with historical accents.

Great binding for beginners and advanced, alike.

The textblock and cover are integrated for a sturdy book

with your own decorative stitching. Great gift or keep for yourself!

This is a charming contemporary binding that you will love

to make and use, or give as a gift. A flexible binding

with a decorative stitch that is easy to recreate

in your home studio

Iris Fold Decorative Technique

Learn this technique that originated in Holland. Strips of

folded paper create a spiral design that resembles the

iris of an eye or camera. In this class we will use our

iris fold creations to frame a picture or photo on cards.

Folding Structures for Books or Cards

Make at least four structures in this folding extravaganza.

We will make the six-pocket origami book, maze book,

Turkish map fold, a magic Mexican folding structure and

maybe more! Great for artist’s book projects or to send

to your favorite friends and relatives as cards (think Mother’s day, grads, Father’s day, birthdays…).

Coptic Bookbinding

The most beautiful and flexible binding in the world, imho!

Learn to make this historical hardcover binding

that dates back to the 4th century Ethiopia.

You will take home a completed book that makes the

perfect journal or sketchbook.
